From a diverse, multicultural background to a self-made, serial entrepreneur, real estate developer, and experiential hospitality expert, Richard Fertig is the personification of the American Dream. A dynamic business leader with over 30 years of experience, Richard continually finds blue ocean opportunities with asymmetric risk profiles.
Richard is an innovative real estate developer focused primarily on the STR (short-term rental) market, creating branded experiences to delight raving fans with his signature "modern hospitality."
In 2020, he entered the boutique hotel industry through the acquisition of strategically located assets, including a surf and yoga-inspired hotel in Nosara, Costa Rica, and launched the Edgecamp Sporting Club on the Outer Banks of NC with his flagship 14-bed, 12,000 sq ft, purposefully designed, custom-built clubhouse designed to grow and encourage community. More recently, Richard has added boutique hotels in Palm Springs, CA, and Palm Beach, FL bringing his growing portfolio to 4 world-class locations.
Richard shares his proven short-term rental strategies that continue to resonate with his 70k+ YouTube followers, 50k+ Facebook Group members subscribed to Short Term Rental University, and 16k+ Twitter Followers.
Prior to his entrepreneurial journey, Richard was the Co-Head of Investments at Ramius Capital, a $4+ hedge fund in New York City. Before that, he was an Associate at The Blackstone Group and was one of the first hires for their hedge fund-of-funds business, now one of their largest units. Richard graduated from Cornell University with a Double Major in Psychology and Economics and earned his MBA in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Richard and his fiance Erika split their time between Jackson Hole, WY, and the Outer Banks, NC, where they live with their two puppies, Jackson and Bo. Richard is an outdoor enthusiast and an avid skier, surfer, and kiteboarder.
Pamela Lenci
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
As the Chief Operating Officer of our Hospitality Division, Pamela oversees the operation’s human resources, branding, and marketing strategies, service standards, asset development, and hospitality operations.
She is a resourceful leader, with an extensive background in high-end hospitality, experiential travel, and development. She served as the President/GM of Caldera House, one of the most buzz-worthy and award-winning hotels, and Alpine Clubs, in North America. There she oversaw the successful development, launch, and operation of the $100M, Jackson Hole based project. Prior to her time with Caldera House, she honed her skills in experiential travel with Canadian Mountain Holidays, an industry leader in Heli-skiing and Adventure Tourism.
Originating from Bella Coola, a remote community on British Columbia’s Central Coast, Pamela’s love for the outdoors runs deep. She now calls Squamish BC home, a world-famous mountain biking, climbing, kiting, and skiing destination.
Erika Bossi
CHIEF CULTURE OFFICER
A successful entrepreneur, she launched Signature Experience in 2010 in Jackson Hole, WY. For a decade she delighted her ultra-high-net-worth clients with corporate and personal event planning and execution. For select clients, Erika was trusted as a lifestyle manager focusing on making life easier, better, and happier.
She is a true empath with high emotional intelligence, as evidenced by guest feedback when she served as the Director of Hospitality at the Edgecamp Sporting Club. She has grown relationships locally, both finding and attracting the best amenity providers to service Edgecamp’s affluent guests with a la carte luxuries totaling nearly $150,000 in 2021 revenue. She routinely impressed Edgecamp’s discerning and worldly guests by creating the most memorable experiences.
Erika currently serves as Stomp’s Chief Culture Officer charged with attracting, growing, and inspiring each team member. By supporting the individual and setting the tone for what we can be, she brings out the best in us individually, and collectively.
Bobby Tanev
FINANCIAL CONSULTANT
Bobby serves in the capacity of a financial consultant with a primary focus on strategy, investments, and financial reporting. He oversees the investment team and is a member of the investment committee. Bobby is deeply involved with deals due diligence, lender relationships, and overall management of the fund.
He brings 17 years of global financial services experience and a successful track record of generating alpha on behalf of investors throughout his career. During the Global Financial Crisis Bobby was actively investing in mortgage servicers, non-performing residential loans, and residential REITs developing a deep understanding of the real estate industry. In addition to his financial acumen, Bobby plays a vital role on our investment committee by often voicing a contrarian view to contrast Richard’s bullish views.
Bobby graduated from Texas Christian University with a degree in Finance and International Economics. He lives in Newtown, Connecticut, on a horse farm with his wife Sara. Bobby is a passionate equestrian, and culinary enthusiast, and is exceptionally well traveled.
Margot Pendleton
Director of Business Development and Investor Relations
Spearheading investor relations and business development, Margot is distinctly focused on augmenting the fund's drive to acquire, develop, and operationalize our signature, world class hospitality portfolio. Margot's diverse professional background – including 2.5 years at Goldman Sachs and most recently 5 years at Deloitte Consulting – uniquely positions her to manage Stomp's investor relationships and capital investments. Fostering initiatives that provide notable productivity and meaningful value for Stomp and its investors is the cornerstone of Margot’s focus.
Margot grew up in Bozeman, Montana, taking advantage of all of the unique experiences such a place offers. She was also fortunate to attend the Island School in Eleuthera, Bahamas during high school. Margot holds a BSBA from the University of Denver. She is an avid skier, tennis and pickleball player, and traveler.
Michael Jones
DIRECTOR OF GROWTH & ACQUISITIONS
Michael is focused on expanding Stomp Capital's portfolio of Boutique Hotels and STRs by qualifying new acquisitions, driving margin accretive growth for existing portfolio assets, analyzing new revenue channels, and optimizing enterprise performance. He is responsible for initial business case development, identifying the highest and best use of potential targets, and validating synergy opportunities.
Prior to Stomp Capital, Michael was a Senior Management Consultant at Deloitte, where he advised Fortune 500 Companies on Growth (incl. M&A), Customer & Go-To-Market Strategy, Cost Rationalization, Operating Model, and Enterprise Transformation.
Michael graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Finance from the University of San Diego. He also holds a certificate in Revenue Management from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and certifications in Business Analytics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Michael spends his time between Los Angles and South Florida, where he pursues his passion for surfing and kiteboarding.
